Avi Electronics is right in the middle of Sadashiv Peth at number 281. This is an old part of the city, so the lanes are narrow and there are cycles and scooters everywhere. It’s a very busy neighborhood with a lot of history. Our shop is on the ground floor of a building that has been here for decades. The walls are thick, so it stays relatively cool inside even during the peak of summer. We have shelves lined with various parts and some old equipment that we’ve kept around for years. It’s not the kind of place that looks like a high-tech lab. It looks more like a workshop where people actually use their hands to fix things. There is a constant hum of fans and the smell of solder sometimes lingers in the air. Number 281 is easy to miss if you are driving fast, but most people in Sadashiv Peth walk or bike, so they find us eventually. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy displays. We just keep the door open and wait for the day to start. Sometimes neighbors pop in just to chat for a minute before moving on. It feels like a community here. We have a small stool by the counter where we sit when things are slow. It’s a simple life, but the work keeps us busy enough from morning until the sun goes down. We usually close up early on Saturdays to get some rest before the next week starts.
