At Avanti Architects & Interior Designers, we work out of Kothrud Kesar Ganj Road A/901. It is a high-up spot in the building which gives us a bit of a view, but we are mostly looking at our screens or drawing boards. We do both the outside of the building and the inside stuff, like where the cabinets go and what color the walls should be. It is a small group of us here. We end up arguing sometimes about where a door should swing or if a window is too small. That is just how it goes when you are trying to get things right. Kothrud is a nice place to be based. We have a lot of local clients who are just looking to fix up their flats or build a new house on a plot they bought. We try to keep the drawings simple so the builders don't get confused. There is no corporate vibe here. We wear regular clothes and drink a lot of tea while we work. The office at A/901 is usually a mess of fabric swatches and paint chips. We try to help people make their spaces usable. It’s not just about looking good, it has to work for a family living there. We’ve been at this for some time and we just take it one project at a time. If you need us, we are usually around during normal hours. It is just a regular office doing regular design work.
