The clinic is located right in Vishrantwadi, specifically on the Juhu Thara Road near the Sagarika Society. If you know the area, you know how the traffic can get around the building marked 18 50 in the evening. It is a bit of a squeeze to get here sometimes. Inside, it is pretty basic. We have some plastic chairs for people to sit on while they wait their turn. The floor is that old white tile that never looks quite clean no matter how much we mop it. Dr. Asha is usually in the back room seeing someone while the rest of us handle the paperwork out front. We see a lot of the same faces from around the neighborhood. People bring their kids in or come by because they have got a cough that will not go away. It is not like those big hospitals where everything is shiny and cold. Here, you can hear the birds outside and the sound of scooters passing by. We keep a ledger of everyone who visits, and sometimes the handwriting is a bit messy because we are in a rush. There is a small fan near the window that helps when the humidity gets bad. We have been part of this street for years. It is a lot of long hours and checking temperatures and writing notes. Nothing glamorous about it, just the daily grind of a local medical spot.
