Up here in Mahadkar Chambers, things stay pretty consistent. We are in room 311, which is a decent walk up the stairs or a quick ride if the lift is behaving itself that day. Kothrud is always moving fast, especially being right on LBS Marg. You can hear the traffic and the horns all afternoon, but once you get inside the office, it gets a bit quieter. Arun M Deshpande is the name you will see on the directory. We have been in this building for a long time. The windows look out over the street, so we see the change of the seasons and the crowds going by. It’s a practical space. We have files stacked up and a few computers that hum all day long. We don't go for any of that modern office decor. We like our wooden desks and the old fans. Most of the people who come here are regulars who have been stopping by for years. We handle the paperwork and have our routines. Lunch is usually a tiffin from home, eaten while we talk about the news or the local cricket scores. It’s just a normal workplace. We don’t have a big marketing department or any of that stuff. We just focus on the tasks on the table and make sure we don't fall behind. It’s honest work in a busy part of the city.
