Sanjay N Patankar is located right in the heart of Shaniwar Peth. We are on the first floor of Saptashrungi Apartment, which is tucked into Kumhar Mohalla. If you know this part of the city, you know it gets quite crowded with all the narrow lanes and the old buildings standing close together. Getting up the stairs to the first floor is part of the daily routine now. The office isn't very large, but it fits everything we need to get through the work week. Most of the time, the windows are open to let in some air, even if it means hearing the sounds of the neighborhood all day. Shaniwar Peth has a specific feel to it, very traditional and busy in a way that newer areas aren't. We have lived and worked in this area for a long time, so we know most of the people nearby. There is no big sign out front, just the name on the door at number 7. We spend most of our mornings sorting through tasks and then the afternoons are for meeting whoever stops by. It can be a bit dusty sometimes because of the construction nearby, but that is just how things go in this part of town. We keep things pretty low-key here. There isn't any fancy furniture, just a few sturdy desks and some old cupboards filled with records from over the years. It is a practical space for a practical life.
