Arun Book Binding Works

We’ve been doing book binding for a long time now. The shop is on Vakola Masjid Road in Chinchwadagaon. If you know where the PNG Jewellers is, we are quite close to that. It’s a traditional kind of work. We get all sorts of books coming in, some are old and falling apart, others are new reports that need a solid cover. There’s usually a lot of paper scraps and glue around because that’s the nature of the job. It’s a small space, but we make it work. We use our hands and some old machines to get the edges straight and the spines strong. People bring in their thesis papers, old religious books, or even just ledgers that need fixing up. We don't move very fast, but we make sure the job is done right so the book stays together for a long time. It’s quiet work mostly. Sometimes the noise from the road comes in, but we just keep at it. We’ve lived and worked in this area for years. Most people around here know where we are if they need something bound. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. Just the shop and the tools we use every day. It’s honest work and we like seeing a finished book look neat and strong when it leaves the shop. We’re just here working on the next one.
