Ab Instruments

Our place is in Parvati, right in room 201. It’s a small space, but we have a lot of tools packed into the shelves. We mostly deal with meters and small technical parts that need a lot of attention. I spend my day sitting at a bench with a magnifying lamp. It’s quiet work, and you have to have steady hands. Sometimes the parts are so small I drop them and have to spend ten minutes on the floor looking for a tiny screw. We don't have a big sign outside, just the room number on the door. People who know us usually just walk in. The building is a bit old and the stairs are steep. I keep a radio playing softly in the background so it isn't too silent. We’ve been at this address for a long time, fixing things that other people say are too old to bother with. There’s a lot of old equipment sitting in boxes that I mean to get to eventually. It isn't a high-tech lab with white coats. It’s just a workbench and a lot of patience. My hands are usually a bit greasy from the oil we use on the gears. When the sun hits the window in the afternoon, it gets a bit warm in here, but we just open the door to the hallway. I’ve got a collection of old catalogs that haven't been touched in years, but I don't like throwing things away.
