A One Saloon

We are located at the Sawast Sai Building over in Sai Chowk. It is right near the tennis court in Sangavi, so sometimes we get kids coming in after their practice with messy hair and sweaty faces. The shop is not hard to find. We have got a blue sign outside that has faded a bit from the sun. Inside, it smells like talcum powder and that cheap aftershave we use. The chairs are lined up against the big mirror. I have been working here for a while now and I have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit, but the shop stays mostly the same. We have a small television in the corner, but the signal is not always great, so it mostly just plays whatever channel comes through clearly. We do a lot of shaves with the straight razor. You have to be careful with those. On Sundays, the wait can be long, and men just stand outside on the pavement chatting until a chair opens up. We do not take appointments or anything like that; you just show up and wait your turn. The floor is tile and it is a bit cracked near the entrance. It does not bother anyone. People just want their hair trimmed so they can get on with their day. We keep it simple and do not make a big deal out of things. Just a regular day of work for us at the shop.
