Kashmir Apple Farmers Producer Company Limited is located right on Rajpora Road in Bellow. We use the space at Ghulam Mohi Ud Din Wani’s place, number 24. This area is famous for its apples, and most of us have been in the orchards since we were kids. It’s not an easy job, despite what people might think. There is a lot of pruning, spraying, and then the long wait for the fruit to turn the right color. We aren't a big corporation with people in suits. We are just local growers who decided to pool our resources so we could get our fruit to the market more easily. The road outside is usually busy with tractors and trucks, especially in the autumn. Our office is a practical room where we keep the scales and the ledgers. It’s often full of the smell of wood crates and ripe fruit. We don't have a lot of rules, we just expect everyone to do their fair share. When the harvest hits, nobody gets much sleep. We are out there from sunrise to sunset, making sure the apples are picked before the frost gets them. It’s a lot of bending and climbing, and by the end of the day, everyone is exhausted. We don't spend money on advertising because the fruit speaks for itself. We just want to keep the orchards healthy and make sure the next generation has something to work with.
