Sri Kannika Parameshwari Modern Rice Mill

Our place is located at No : 134 on Periyaye Kovil Road. This is Thachur Post, out here in the Villupuram district. Sri Kannika Parameshwari Modern Rice Mill has been operating from this spot for quite some time. It's a busy road sometimes with tractors and trucks coming through. The air usually smells like grain and dust because that's just part of running a rice mill. We spend our days watching the machines and making sure everything is running okay. It’s noisy, but you get used to it after a few years. We aren't trying to be anything special, just a local mill doing the work. Villupuram is a place where a lot of this happens. We see the same faces most weeks. People from the nearby farms bring their stuff over. It’s honest work. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend the afternoon fixing them with greasy hands. That is just how life is here on Periyaye Kovil Road. We don't have a lot of paperwork or big meetings. We just focus on the rice. The building isn't brand new, but it holds up well enough for what we need. When the sun goes down, we close up and head home like everyone else. It’s a steady rhythm. We just keep things moving along as best as we can. There isn't much more to it than that. We are just here in Thachur, doing what needs to be done every single day.
