Our place is at 56, Moolakulam. It’s a simple building and we’ve been here at Print India for longer than I can remember. The street isn't too wide, so parking can be a bit of a headache for folks visiting. We have the big printing machines running most of the time. They make a steady humming sound that you eventually stop noticing after a few hours. The air smells like ink and paper, which I’ve grown to like over the years. We aren't a massive corporation with departments and managers. It is just a handful of us making sure things get printed correctly. Sometimes we make a mistake and have to start over, but that’s just part of the job. We don’t use any fancy jargon here. We just talk like regular people. If someone needs something done, we tell them how long it will take and what it will cost. Usually, we are on time, but if a machine breaks down, we have to fix it ourselves. The floor is concrete and a bit stained from all the ink spills. We keep a fan going in the corner because it gets quite hot in the afternoons. It’s a practical setup. We don’t need anything more than what we have right now to get through the day. We stay until the work is finished, even if it gets late.
