About 3G Laser Arts – Safety & Security in Puducherry
3G Laser Arts is located right by the Nellie Thorpe Signal at number 322. It’s a busy intersection, so there is always the sound of traffic and horns outside. We work with lasers here to cut and engrave different things. The machine has a specific smell when it’s running, sort of like burnt wood or plastic depending on what we are working on. We have a small desk where we set up the files. Most of the space is taken up by the laser bed and the materials we keep in stock. We get all sorts of requests, some simple and some that are a bit of a headache to figure out. We just try to make it work. It’s not a fancy office. We have some stools and a workbench that’s seen better days. The floor is usually covered in little cutouts. We’ve been at this signal for a while, so the locals know where we are. It’s a one-room operation mostly. We spend a lot of time watching the laser beam move back and forth to make sure nothing catches fire or goes off track. It’s a bit tedious but we’re used to it. We don't have any big slogans. We just take the orders and run the machine. Sometimes we get distracted by the shouting at the signal outside, but then we go back to work.
