Over here in Phoolpur, specifically in the Gagaur area, farming is the backbone of the community. Shwetamber Farmers Producer Company Limited came about because we wanted to see the local farmers get a better shake. We are located at 1 Gagaur, which is right in the heart of where everything happens. We don't have a single person running the whole show. It’s more of a collective effort by the people who actually spend their lives in the dirt. We grow a variety of crops depending on what the Phoolpur climate allows each year. Being a producer company means we can help our members get access to things they couldn't get on their own, like better tools or more information on how to keep the soil healthy. We have seen a lot of changes in the way things are done around here over the years. Some of it is good and some of it makes things harder. We try to navigate those changes together. It is not always smooth sailing. There are plenty of days when we wonder if the work is worth it, but then the harvest comes in and you see the results of the group effort. We are just a local operation, keeping it simple and focusing on the day-to-day reality of running a farm in this part of the country.
