Our place is tucked away in Akhora village, specifically in the Majra Choukharia area. If you come looking for us, you will mostly see open fields and a few small houses around. This company was set up to help the local people who have cows and buffaloes get their milk to a bigger market. It is not like those big city offices you see on television. We have a small building where the trucks pull in. Most of the time, the air smells like hay and fresh milk. The weather really dictates our day. When it rains, the roads get muddy and the tractors have a hard time getting through, which makes everything run late. We spend our mornings testing the milk quality and writing down the numbers in big ledger books. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it matters to the families here. Sometimes we sit outside under the tree to have tea and talk about the crops or the cattle feed prices. There is no air conditioning or anything like that, just a couple of ceiling fans that creak when they spin. We know almost everyone who brings their milk to us by name. It is a very local operation and we prefer it that way. It’s just honest work in the village, making sure the milk gets collected and everyone gets their fair share for their labor. We don't have fancy titles, we just do what is needed to keep things moving.
