Shankargarh Producer Company Limited is based in Allahabad. You can find us at Vimal Singh Juhi’s place in Kapurara. It’s not a big fancy office. We are just a local group of producers in Uttar Pradesh. Allahabad is a large city but our part of it is more about the farms and the local community. Being a producer company means we are mostly farmers who have come together. Vimal Singh helps us with all the administrative work from his house. We don't have any colorful brochures or a team of people to sell our story. We just talk to each other and decide what needs to be done with the crops. The address in Kapurara is where the bookkeeping happens. The real work is done out in the open air. It’s hard and the hours are long. We don't use fancy business talk. We just discuss things like the price of grain and when the next rains might come. It’s a very simple and practical way to live. We’ve lived in this area for a long time. People know us as their neighbors. We just want to keep the operation running so it can support the families involved. It’s a modest setup and we don't try to make it sound like something more. We are just folks trying to make our way through the farming seasons together. The work never really stops but we don't mind that much.
