New Golden Hair Cutting is out in Jhunsi, right on the G.T Road in Allahabad. We are specifically in the Mahin Chak Harihar Ban area. Being on the main road means we get all sorts of people stopping by, from truck drivers to local villagers. It’s a traditional barber shop through and through. We have been here for a good while, and the shop reflects that. It isn't a modern studio with fancy music; it’s more of a place where you hear the snip of scissors and the sound of the traffic outside. We do hair cutting, shaves, and the classic head massage that everyone seems to like. The chairs are old-fashioned but they do the job. We have a big mirror that covers most of the wall so customers can see what’s happening. It can get dusty being so close to the GT Road, so we are always dusting the shelves and wiping down the benches. We don't have any marketing brochures or big advertisements. Most people just see the sign while they are passing by or hear about us from a neighbor. Allahabad is a city with a lot of history, and we feel like a small part of the daily life here in Jhunsi. We just show up, open the shutters, and wait for the first customer of the day. It’s simple work and we don't try to make it anything more than that. It is just a shop.
