Nautical Institute Of Sailors

We are located at 8000/677 Colonelganj in Allahabad. It’s an old part of the city, and our building fits right in with the others on the street. We work on training people who want to go out and work at sea. It might seem a bit strange to have a nautical institute so far from the ocean, but we focus on the books and the basics here. The classrooms have old wooden benches and charts of the stars and oceans pinned to the walls. It’s a bit dusty, and the ceiling fans hum loudly whenever they're switched on. We see a lot of young men coming in from the nearby villages, hoping to find work on big ships and see the world. They bring a lot of energy to the place every morning. We keep things very simple around here. There’s a small office where we handle the enrollments and a wooden cupboard full of old maritime manuals. We don't use any high-tech simulators or anything like that. It’s all about learning the rules and getting the paperwork in order for their future. The street outside is usually quiet, except for when the local school lets out nearby. We spend our mornings drinking tea and going over the day's lessons before the students arrive. It’s a steady kind of life for us. We’ve been here in Colonelganj for years, and most people in the neighborhood know exactly what we do. It’s just a small, local place helping people start a different life.
