Khushi Ladies Herbal Beauty Parlour

We are located out in Handia, specifically at the Sirsa Chauraha on Ranipur Road. It is a bit of a trek from the main city of Allahabad, but this area is where we live and work. The parlour is called Khushi, and we focus on herbal stuff because that is what many of the local women around here prefer. We use a lot of powders and oils that don't have all those harsh chemicals in them. The shop is right near the crossroads, so there is always something to see out the front window. It’s a simple room with some wooden shelves where we keep our jars and bottles. During the rainy season, the road outside gets quite muddy, so we have to mop the floor several times a day to keep the dirt out. We don’t have a big staff, usually just one or two of us handling everything from hair to skin treatments. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when it’s wedding season and everyone wants to get their henna done at the same time. We’ve got a small bench for people to sit on while they wait. We aren't trying to be like those big city salons; we just provide a place for the ladies in Handia to get their work done in a way that feels natural and familiar to them. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the morning, so the shade helps a lot.
