Sri Ponniamman Flower Decorations

Our shop, Sri Ponniamman Flower Decorations, is at No:154 on M.G Road in Muthialpet. We are inside the Ponniamman Complex. Flowers are what we deal with every single day. The work starts very early in the morning when the fresh bundles arrive from the market. Working in Pondicherry means we have to be quick because the heat can wilt the petals if we aren't careful. We mostly spend our time trimming stems and tying garlands for local functions. The floor of our shop is often covered in leaves and bits of string. It is not a very tidy job, but it is what we do. It is a small team here and we do everything by hand without any big machines. The smell of jasmine is always around us while we work.
