Kasliwal Brothers

Kasliwal Brothers is located at number 209 on Chetty Street. It’s a long-standing family business, and we’ve been in this same building for many years. The place used to be a home, so it has that comfortable, old-fashioned feeling with high ceilings and thick walls. We deal with various types of merchandise depending on the season and what people are asking for. Our main room has these long wooden counters where we display some of our items. It’s not a modern shop with bright lights; we prefer the natural light that comes through the front door. We spend a lot of our day just talking to the people who walk in. Many of them are neighbors we’ve known for a long time. My brother and I run the place together, and we have one helper who has been with us forever. We don't have a computer system, so everything is written down in our daily books. In the afternoons, the street gets a bit quiet and we sometimes take a nap or just sit and watch the world go by. It’s a very slow pace of life compared to the big city, but it suits us. We don't want to expand or move. This street is our home, and we plan to stay here as long as we can.
