Kalima Broilers Private Limited

We run Kalima Broilers from our spot at No. 12 on Jagaraj Nagar. It’s right off the Karuvadikuppam Road in the Muthialpet area. If you’ve ever driven through this part of Pondicherry, you’ve likely seen our sign. We deal with poultry, and it's a pretty busy and loud business to be in. There is always some truck pulling in or leaving. This all started because we saw a need for fresh meat right here in the neighborhood. It isn't the cleanest kind of work, but it’s what we know. We get up really early, usually way before the sun is up, to get things ready. My family helps out with most of the daily tasks. There is a lot of physical labor involved, like moving cages and hosing things down. We don't bother with mission statements or anything corporate. We just focus on keeping the birds healthy and making sure people get what they paid for. Sometimes things get a bit chaotic and we lose track of the time. The building itself isn't much to look at, but it works for what we need. Most of the local restaurants around here have been buying from us for a long time. We still use paper ledgers instead of computers for most things. People know where we are if they need us. We just work hard and try to stay organized.
