You can find Navanila Maruthi Computers over at the Vijay Complex on Palakkad Road. We are in unit 22/64, which is a busy little corner of the building. It’s a typical commercial complex, so there is always the sound of people moving around and other shops doing their thing. We spend most of our time looking at screens or taking apart hardware to see why it stopped working. It is not a glamorous job, and our hands are usually a bit dirty from dust inside the machines. People bring in their laptops or desktop towers when they are having trouble, and we do what we can to fix them up. Sometimes it's a quick fix, and other times we have to wait for parts to arrive from elsewhere. Palakkad Road is always noisy with buses and cars, but we've grown to like the energy of it. We have a few benches for people to sit on while they wait. We aren't a big chain store with matching uniforms. We are just a few guys who know our way around a motherboard. We try to be honest about what can be fixed and what is probably just junk at this point. Electronics can be frustrating for people, so we try to explain things simply without using too much jargon. It’s a small shop, but it keeps us on our toes every day. Working with computers means you never stop seeing new problems that need solving.
