Sos Farmers Producer Company Limited

Down in Shivnar, which is part of Mokama, you will find us at Sos Farmers Producer Company. It is a village setting, so you know how it is, everyone knows everyone's business. We are based out of the main village area near the post office. It’s a handy location because we are always sending or receiving something. Mokama is known for its farming, and we are right in the thick of it. We started this because we saw that individual farmers were struggling with the logistics of selling their produce. We keep our office very basic. There’s a wooden table and a few stools. Most of the real work happens out in the fields or by the roadside when we are loading up trucks. We don't have any fancy mission statements or things like that. We just want to make sure the pulse crops and other things we grow actually get to the market without too much trouble. Sometimes we have to wait for the trucks for hours, and we just sit by the post office and talk. The weather really dictates our schedule. If it’s too hot, we start early in the morning and finish by noon. If it rains, we scramble to cover the bags. It’s a lot of physical work and sometimes the paperwork gets a bit confusing, but we manage. We are just a local group trying to help our own community here in Shivnar.
