Shiv Shankar Gallabhandar is located at Saguna Mode in Pragati Nagar, right near the Danapur Cantt area. If you’ve ever been through this intersection, you know how chaotic it can get. There are people and vehicles everywhere. Our place is basically a hub for the grains and goods we handle. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to keep as much stock as possible on hand. The floors are concrete and the walls have seen better days, but it’s a working space. We spend a lot of time lifting bags and weighing things out for customers who come by. It’s a lot of physical work. Most of the time, we’re just focusing on the next load coming in or the next customer standing at the counter. We don't use any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of it is still written down in ledgers or kept in our heads. The dust from the sacks of grain is just something we live with. It gets really hot in the summer, so we keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze comes off the road. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a while, and we know most of the people who walk past. It’s a basic business. We don't have any big slogans or anything like that. We just open up in the morning, do the work, and close up when the sun goes down. There is always a lot to sweep up at the end.
