Gokul Sweets

If you are walking down E Gandhi Maidan Rd, you will find us right near Mona Cinema Hall. It’s a busy part of Bakarganj in Patna. We’ve been running Gokul Sweets for quite some time. The shop opens early because there is always a lot of prep work to do. Making sweets takes a lot of patience and long hours in the kitchen with the big vats. It can get pretty crowded, especially during the festival season or when a big movie lets out at the cinema next door. We don't have fancy decorations, just glass counters filled with whatever we made fresh that morning. Sometimes we run out of certain milk sweets by the afternoon, but that’s just how it goes with fresh food. People come in for a quick snack or to take a box home for their family. The noise from the street is constant, but you get used to it after a while. We keep things simple here. We don't spend money on big ads or social media. Most folks know us just by walking past and seeing the displays. The floor can get a bit sticky when it's busy, and we are always cleaning up between customers. We use old recipes that have been around for many years. It's hard work, standing on your feet all day, but seeing the same faces every week makes it worth it. We just try to make sure everything tastes like it should. Patna is a fast-moving city, but here, things feel a bit more traditional.
