Sainchak Jan Seva Farmer Producer Company Limited is tucked away in Sainchak, near the Ranyodha post office in the Rajoun area. It’s a bit of a drive out to Banka, but that’s where all the action is for us. We set this up to serve the local farmers in the Dhankund region. It started as a small group of friends talking about how hard it was to get fair prices. We figured that if we formed a proper producer company, we might have a better chance. Our office isn't anything special to look at. It’s just a place where we keep our files and meet up after the sun goes down to talk about the day’s work. Most of us have been farming since we were young, so we know the dirt here better than anything else. We don't have any big corporate goals; we just want to make sure the people in Sainchak can keep their farms running without going broke. It involves a lot of back-and-forth between the different villages in Rajoun. Sometimes the phone lines go down or the power cuts out, but we just keep going. It’s honest work, and having the company name helps us when we have to deal with people from outside the district. We might not have it all figured out yet, but we're learning.
