Palasi Agribusiness Farmer Producer

Palasi Agribusiness Farmer Producer is based in the village of Tola Dala, in the Panch Pakri area of Palasi block. You can find us at the house of Maheshwar Mandal, who is the son of Tirthanand Mandal. This is a real farming community through and through. The whole village is centered around the seasons and the crops. Maheshwar’s place is where we gather to talk about the business and organize things for the local farmers. It is a very simple setup with just the basic furniture and a lot of notebooks. We don’t have a secretary or a formal reception. If someone wants to talk to us, they just walk up to the door and call out. Most of our work involves coordinating between the different families in Tola Dala to make sure everyone has what they need for the season. The sun can be very harsh here, so we do a lot of our traveling in the early morning or late evening. There is a lot of talk about water and seeds whenever we meet. We don't bother with promotional talk because everyone knows who we are and what we do. It’s about getting the crops out of the ground and to the market. We are just a group of people from the village trying to help each other out and keep the farming tradition going in Palasi. It is honest work.
