Mithilanandini Farmer Producer Company Limited

We started this over here in Sitamarhi, specifically in the Runisaidpur block, working out of Baliram Singh Mursand’s place. It’s just a group of us local farmers trying to figure things out together without any big city help. The weather around here hasn’t always been easy to deal with, and getting our crops to the right spot takes a whole lot of effort. We spend most of our days in Parihar looking at the fields and checking the soil. Some of us have been doing this for decades, while the younger guys are just getting their hands dirty for the first time. We don’t have a big fancy office with air conditioning or anything like that. It’s just a simple room where we sit down on plastic chairs and talk about the seeds and the soil. Sometimes the rain is way too much and the roads get muddy, and other times it’s so dry the ground cracks. We just try to keep things moving. There’s a lot of paperwork with these producer companies, and honestly, none of us really like doing it, but we manage. People around here know where we are located. We’re just neighbors helping neighbors out in the village. If someone needs to talk about the upcoming harvest, they just walk over and come by. It’s quiet most of the time, but when harvest season comes, everyone is incredibly busy. We don’t use big words or have some massive five-year plan. We just deal with whatever is right in front of us every morning.
