Laheje Agro Food Industries Private Limited is situated in the village of Laheji. Specifically, we work from Tola Laheji in the Hasanpura block of the Siwan district. Om Prakash Singh’s place is where we handle the administrative side of things. We are involved in the food industry, but in a very local way. We take what is grown in the fields around Siwan and try to turn it into something useful for people to eat. It is a lot of work to manage the processing and the storage, especially when you are doing it in a village setting. We don't have the big machines that the city factories have, so a lot of it is done by hand or with smaller equipment. The people working here are all from the local area. We know each other’s families and we understand the land here. Some days the electricity goes out and we have to wait to finish our work, or the roads to Hasanpura get blocked by rain. That is just how life is here. We are just trying to build something that lasts and provides some jobs for the folks in Laheji. We don't have a marketing team to write fancy stories about us. We are just honest people working with food and crops, trying to do a decent job every day without any fuss or complicated plans. It is simple work but it keeps us busy and feeds our families.
