We operate out of Piprakhurd village in the Saraigarh block. Our office is at Jai Ram Mehta’s place in Ward Number 06. Being in Supaul means we are right in the middle of the Koshi area. Everyone around here knows how the river behaves. It changes everything about how we farm and when we harvest. Koshi Ujjawal Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited is a group of farmers who decided to pool our resources together. It’s better than trying to do everything alone. Life in the village is simple but the work is never really finished. We spend a lot of time talking about the seasons and what the land needs. The office isn't anything special to look at. Just a place where we keep the books and meet up. Most of the time we are out in the fields anyway. People stop by to ask about seeds or prices. We try to give them straight answers. It’s a local effort through and through. We know the families around here. Supaul has its challenges, especially when the rains get heavy. We just try to help each other out. We don't have fancy brochures or a marketing team. Just Jai Ram and the rest of the guys making sure the crops get to where they need to go. It’s about keeping the community going and making sure the farming stays viable for the next generation in Piprakhurd.
