Koilahara Fish Farmers Producer Company Limited is located in Village Semra, specifically over in Ward Number 05. We are in the P.Dayal area of East Champaran. Unlike a lot of the other farmer groups around here that focus mostly on grain or vegetables, we are all about fish. We have several ponds and water areas that we manage together as a group. It is a different kind of farming, for sure, but it is just as much work as anything else. Our office is right there in the village, and it is nothing fancy at all. We meet up frequently to talk about things like fingerlings, the price of feed, and how the water levels are looking in the different ponds. It is a very hands-on job. You will often find us standing near the water's edge rather than sitting behind a desk. We started this whole thing because we realized that trying to sell fish individually wasn't working out very well for any of us. By coming together as a producer company, we can handle the logistics much better. We aren't the corporate types. We are just villagers who happen to know a lot about fish and the local water. We talk in plain English and don't bother with any marketing fluff. People in Semra know exactly where to find us if they want to talk about aquaculture. We just keep our heads down and do the daily work. It is a simple life.
