Jiyabhumija Farmer Producer Company Limited

Down in the Sobhanadih area of Munger, that’s where our company, Jiyabhumija, is based. Kailash Mandal is our main contact person there. We are a group of farmers who live and work near the river. The land here is good but it takes a lot of effort to keep it producing year after year. We started this producer company because it was getting harder to manage everything individually. Now we try to coordinate our planting and harvesting times. It helps us stay organized. Munger is a big place, but our little corner in Sobhanadih is where we focus. We deal with whatever the season brings, whether it’s corn, wheat, or rice. Sometimes the floods are a problem being so close to the water, but we manage to get through it. We aren’t looking to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the work we do in the fields pays off. We meet at Kailash’s place or out in the fields to discuss what’s going on with the market. It’s just a group of neighbors working together to make the farming life a bit more stable. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s ours. We keep things simple and try to do right by the local farmers who joined us. We just keep planting and hope for the best at the end of every season.
