Flower Mill

This is just our small place in Patna, right near the petrol pump in Amrudi Gali. Everyone knows the Dinkar Chauk area. We call it Flower Mill. It’s a bit of a tight spot, Room No B 1, but we make it work. It’s dusty work, dealing with grain and flour all day, but it’s honest. People from the neighborhood come by with their bags. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the faces. It gets loud when the machines are running, so you have to shout a bit to be heard. We don’t have fancy signs or a big website. Just the door and the smell of fresh flour. Sometimes it gets really hot in the summer, but we keep the fans going. Patna is a busy town, and this alley is no different. You have to watch where you step because of the bikes and the cows. We just stay in our corner and do the milling. It’s not complicated. You bring the stuff, we grind it, you take it home. That’s the whole business really. We try to keep the place as clean as you can keep a mill. It’s a struggle but we try. Life is simple here. No big corporate talks, just the sound of the mill and the people talking about the weather. We aren't doing anything world-changing, just making flour. It's enough for us.
