We are based at 211 Mirjanhat Road, in the Pasi Tola area of Bhagalpur. You’ll find us in Kumhar Gali, which can be a bit cramped when the delivery carts are trying to get through. The place is run with Pratima Devi keeping an eye on things. We focus on preparing food for the early morning crowd. It’s a lot of prep work, like chopping vegetables and getting the batters ready the night before. The kitchen is always humming with some kind of activity. It’s not a fancy corporate office. It’s a place where things actually get made. The Ishakchak neighborhood is quite lively, so there is always someone coming or going. We don’t have a big mission statement or anything like that. We just want to make sure the food tastes right and goes out on time. Sometimes we run into issues with the gas supply or the water, but we always find a way to make it work. It’s a practical business. We use recipes that have been around for a long time. The pots are heavy and the steam makes the air thick, but that’s just how a working kitchen feels. We aren't trying to be a five-star restaurant. We’re just providing honest food for the local folks who need a quick bite before they start their own long days at work.
