Supaul is a place where you really have to pay attention to the weather. Our little group is centered in Koshalipatti, specifically in Ward No-04. It’s a quiet village where most of us have known each other since we were children. Baba Ram Das is the name we chose, mostly because it felt right for our local area near Pipra. We don't have a proper office building with glass windows or anything like that. We mostly gather at one of the houses to talk about the crops. The soil here in Supaul is good if the rain comes at the right time. We grow things like maize and sometimes lentils. It’s hard work, and your back usually aches by the end of the day. We don't use a lot of big words or have fancy meetings. We just sit around and figure out how to buy seeds without spending too much money. Sometimes the floods come and we lose a lot, which is why we try to stick together. It’s better than being on your own when things go wrong. We don't have a website or a marketing person. If someone wants to talk to us, they just come to the village and ask for the farmers' group. We are just regular people who know more about dirt and plants than about business papers. That's just the way it is in Koshalipatti. It’s not much of a business, but it’s our life and we stay busy.
