Smartness Salon

Our shop is on Khajanchi Road, which is a busy part of Ashok Nagar here in Patna. It is called Smartness Salon but we are just a normal neighborhood place. We have some white tiles on the walls that we try to keep clean. The mirrors are large and let you see everything clearly. We’ve got four chairs lined up. Usually, the younger crowd from the nearby colleges comes in looking for different styles. We just do what they ask. The scissors are always moving. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a five-minute break. The floor is often covered in hair because we get a lot of walk-ins throughout the afternoon. We have a small bench for people to sit on while they wait. It’s not a very big space, but it works for us. Patna gets very hot in the summer, so the fans are always on full speed. We don't have any big advertisements outside, just the name on the board. People find us by word of mouth mostly. We’ve been at this Khajanchi Road spot for a while now. The sink in the back is where we wash hair, and the tap leaks a little bit sometimes. It’s just a regular work day for us every day. We open at nine and close when the last customer is done. It is a decent place to get a haircut without any fuss. We keep it simple and stay focused on the work.
