Plot No. E-70 in the Focal Point area is where we have been for a while. The Focal Point is mostly just rows of industrial plots and wide roads made for the big trailers. It gets a bit windy out here because there are not many tall buildings to block the air. We have a large open area where we keep all the steel. Most of it sits under a tin shed to keep the rain off, but some of the bigger beams are just kept out in the yard. In the winter, the metal is freezing cold to the touch, and in the summer, you cannot even put your hand on it without thick gloves. We have a small cabin that we use as the office. It has a desk, a few plastic chairs, and a lot of dusty ledgers. The gate is made of wire mesh and stays open from dawn until dusk. We see the same truck drivers every week. Sometimes they stop to have a talk and a smoke before we start the loading. The sound of the overhead crane is the main thing you hear throughout the day. It has a high-pitched whine that lets everyone know something heavy is being moved. We do not have many visitors other than the regulars. It is a quiet kind of busy, just getting through the orders and keeping the stacks organized.
