If you’ve ever been down Patiala Road in Zirakpur, you probably know how hectic it gets. Our shop, number 11, is right there in the main market. Being near the State Bank of India helps people find us, which is good because the road can be a bit confusing with all the shops lined up. We handle a lot of money services and travel bookings here. It’s a small place, but we keep it busy. The noise from the traffic is constant, you just get used to the horns and the buses rumbling past. Inside, we keep things pretty simple. There’s a counter and some shelves for ledgers. People come in to send money home or ask about bus timings and train tickets. It’s a lot of face-to-face talk, which we prefer over just emails. The floor gets a bit dusty from the street, so we’re always sweeping up. It’s a very local vibe, where we know most of the other shopkeepers around us. Sometimes we stand outside for a bit of air when it’s not too hot. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of us doing the work every day. We’ve been here long enough that people know they can just drop in. It isn't a fancy corporate office, just a regular shop in a busy market town. We deal with the daily rush and try to make sure every person who walks in gets their money or tickets sorted.
