You can find the Sindhvay Farmer Producer Company Limited over in Tuvad village, which is part of the Sami Taluka in Patan district. We use Kanjibhai Dahyabhai Sendhav’s place as our main hub for everything we do. It’s a small operation, really just a bunch of neighbors and local farmers trying to work together. We don't have a big staff or a fancy office building. Most of our work happens out in the fields or sitting on the porch at Kanjibhai’s house. Patan is a tough place for farming sometimes because of the weather, but we’ve been here our whole lives and we know how it goes. We started this company because we wanted to have a better way to manage our harvests and buy what we need for the next season. It’s not always smooth sailing; sometimes we disagree on things, but we always figure it out because we’re all in the same boat. We don’t have any glossy brochures or sales pitches. If you want to know what we’re doing, you just have to come by and talk to us. We’re usually around, unless it’s harvest time and then everyone is busy from dawn until late at night. We just want to make sure the farmers in Tuvad can keep their heads above water. It’s a local thing, run by local people who care about the soil and the community. It is hard work, but we like doing it together.
