Iit Kharagpur

Our base is Room No RR301, located inside the MMM Hall of Residence. It’s a typical dorm environment here in Kharagpur, West Bengal. The room is small, and we’ve had to get creative with how we fit everything in. There are books stacked in the corners and clothes hanging where they shouldn't be. This isn't an office in the traditional sense; it’s where we live and work simultaneously. The hallway outside is usually noisy with people heading to the mess hall or talking about their classes. We spend a lot of late nights here, usually with a laptop open and some snacks on the table. Living in the 721302 zip code means being used to the local weather and the routine of the university. We don't have any staff to clean up after us, so it gets a bit messy during exam weeks. We started using this room as our main spot because it was convenient for everyone involved. It’s where the ideas happen, even if the setting is just a standard hostel room with a couple of beds and desks. We don't really have visiting hours; people just knock on the door if they need something. It’s a very informal way of doing things, but it suits the life of a student or researcher here. We’re just a group of people trying to get through our work in a crowded residence hall. It gets cramped, but we make it work.
