Academia

Our place is called Academia, and we are tucked away on the first floor of the FE-6 building in the IIT Market at Kharagpur. Being right there in the market means we are always in the middle of the local buzz. We’ve been here in the West Midnapur district for a long time, watching generations of students come and go through the university. The office itself is pretty simple, mostly filled with books, files, and a few desks where we do our daily work. It can get a bit hot in the summer months, but we have the fans going and we just get on with things. We mostly help out with academic materials and other things the university crowd might need for their classes. It’s a very specific kind of environment, being so close to a major institute. We don’t have a big front desk or any corporate branding everywhere. It’s just us, working on whatever projects come our way. Sometimes the stairs up to the first floor feel a bit long after a big lunch, but it’s a good spot to be. We like the fact that people can just drop in while they’re out doing their shopping in the market or grabbing a snack. It keeps us connected to what’s happening on campus. We’ve never felt the need to move to a bigger, more modern space because this one works just fine for what we do every day. It's just home to us.
