Sardar Patel High School

We've been here in Ghogamba for a good while now. The school sits right in the Panchmahal district, and you can’t miss it if you’re passing through. It is not a fancy place with shiny glass walls, just a solid building where kids come to learn their lessons every morning. Most of us here grew up in these parts, so we know the families pretty well. Usually, the day starts early when the sun is just coming up over the hills. You hear the cycles rattling on the road and children calling out to each other. We spend our time going through textbooks, making sure the classrooms are somewhat tidy, and handling the usual paperwork that never seems to end. Sometimes the fans make too much noise, and in the monsoon, the ground gets a bit muddy, but that is just how things are here. We have teachers who have been walking these hallways for years, carrying their registers and shouting to get everyone's attention. It’s a busy spot, especially during lunch when everyone is out in the yard. We don't have a lot of big talk about global strategies or anything like that. We just focus on getting through the syllabus and making sure the students know their math and history before the final exams come around. It stays pretty quiet once the afternoon bell rings and everyone heads back home to the surrounding villages.
