Our workshop is at 34 Suryakirti Industrial Estate. It’s located in the Chinchpada area of Gokhiware. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but it’s a good spot for the kind of engineering work we do. Kalina Engg has been operating from this unit for several years. We mostly do custom engineering jobs, which means every day is a bit different depending on what a customer needs. We have a few lathes and other machines that we use to turn out parts. It’s a small estate, so we know the people in the neighboring units pretty well. We often help each other out if someone needs a tool or a bit of advice. The office part of the building is just a small corner where we keep the books and take calls. Most of our time is spent on the shop floor. It can get a bit cluttered with scrap metal and half-finished projects, but we know where everything is. We don't have a marketing team or anyone like that. Most of our business comes from word of mouth around Gokhiware and the surrounding areas. It’s a simple life, really. We come in, look at the blueprints, and start cutting metal. If we can finish a job and it works the way it’s supposed to, then we’re happy. The industrial estate is quietest in the early morning before everyone starts up their machines, which is usually when I get the planning done for the day's work.
