If you’re looking for Janaki, we’re located over in Mira Road. It’s a crowded part of the Mumbai outskirts, and there’s always something going on outside our door. The shop is small, and we’ve had to get creative with how we stack things to make sure there’s enough room for people to walk in. We open up early because the morning rush in Mira Road is no joke. People are always in a hurry to catch their trains or get to work. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that; we just rely on the folks who live nearby and walk past us every day. The walls have some scuffs and the floor is worn down from all the foot traffic, but it’s a comfortable enough place to spend the day. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the regulars who stop by for a minute. The electricity can be a bit spotty during the heavy rains, so we keep some candles and torches handy. It’s not a fancy lifestyle, and the work can be repetitive, but we like the area. There’s a good sense of community here, even with all the noise and the constant construction. We just keep the doors open and do our bit. It’s a modest setup, but it’s ours, and we’ve been here long enough to know most of the faces in the street.
