Hotel United 21

Working at a place like Hotel United 21 in Thane means you never really have a quiet moment. The traffic outside is always moving and there’s that constant hum of the city. We are located in the 401 105 area which stays busy until late at night. The lobby gets a lot of foot traffic from people coming in with suitcases looking a bit tired from their travels. We don’t have those scripted greetings you hear in those big international chains. Instead, we just check the books and get people their keys as fast as we can. The kitchen stays hot and you can usually smell whatever is being cooked for lunch all the way up on the second floor. Sometimes the elevator takes a second to respond if everyone is checking out at the same time. We spend a lot of time making sure the linens are clean and that the light bulbs aren't burnt out. It’s honest work and it keeps us on our feet all day. Some of us have been working here for years and we know the shortcuts around the neighborhood to avoid the worst of the Thane traffic during shift changes. We don’t bother with fancy brochures or anything. People come here because they need a place to stay while they're in town for work or family stuff. It’s just a hotel doing its thing in the middle of Maharashtra.
