H J Engineers

H J Engineers is out in Bhayander East. We are at 31 Mount Joy Extension, on the 3rd Cross. It’s a bit out of the way for some people, but it’s where we’ve always been. The shop isn't very large. We have a couple of lathes and a milling machine that we keep running most of the day. It’s mostly small-scale engineering work. We take in repairs or make small batches of parts for other companies nearby. The air in the shop is thick with the smell of coolant and metal shavings. I usually have to sweep the floor twice a day just to keep from tripping over things. My hands are almost always stained with some kind of grease that doesn't want to wash off. We don't have a big office staff. It’s just us doing the work and answering the door when someone knocks. The neighborhood is fairly quiet compared to the city center, which is nice. We have a small window that looks out onto the street, but it’s usually too dusty to see much through it. Sometimes a customer brings in a broken part and we have to figure out how to fix it without any drawings. That’s the part of the job I actually like. It’s like a puzzle. We aren't a big corporation. We just fix things and make parts.
