Ekalgram Vikas Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of a small place in Gargaon, which is in the Wada taluka. Our address is House No 974 on Sy No 93/2. It is right here in the Thane district. Most of us here have been farming this land for as long as we can remember. We finally thought it made sense to put our names together as a company so we could help each other out with buying supplies and selling what we grow. It is mostly rice and some other things depending on the rain. The weather can be a bit of a problem sometimes, especially when the monsoon is too heavy or too light. We meet up at the house to talk about stuff. It is not a corporate thing at all. It is just neighbors sitting around and trying to make things work better for everyone in the village. Wada is a nice area, but it is hard work being a farmer. We have to deal with a lot of paperwork now that we are a company, but it is worth it if it helps the group. We are not looking to become some huge business, we just want to stay on our land and make a decent living. It is a simple life and we like it that way even when things get stressful with the crops. We just do the work and hope for the best.
