Down here in Waghadi, we started Adivashikanya Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited to help the women in our tribal community. We operate out of Raghunath Bhiva Satvi’s place. Dahanu is a place where many of us have relied on the land for as long as anyone can remember. It is a quiet village life, but the work in the fields is never truly finished. We got together because it felt right to have a formal group for our farming activities. We deal with the basics like grains, vegetables, and whatever else the season allows us to plant. There are no big speeches here, just honest talk about the rain and the soil. Using the house in Waghadi as our base makes it simple for everyone to stay in touch. Sometimes we sit together and figure out how to transport our goods without spending too much money. It is a slow process of building something that works for the local families. We are just regular people who understand the hard work that goes into every bag of produce. The company is our way of staying organized and making sure the women have a say in how things are run. We don't look for shortcuts because we know the land doesn't give anything for free. It’s just us, working the fields and helping each other out through the seasons.
