Azad A To Z Beauty Parlour

Our little parlour is at Shop Number 4 in the Omshanti Building. We are right in Palghar, opposite Malviya Electronic, so it’s easy for people to find us when they are out doing their shopping. It’s a woman’s space, mostly. We have curtains up for privacy and a few chairs for waiting. I’ve been running this place in Thane for a while, and it’s become a bit of a hangout for some of the ladies in the building. We talk about everything while I do their eyebrows or hair. The room smells like hairspray and roses most of the time. It’s not a huge place, but it’s comfortable and we’ve tried to make it look nice with some pictures on the walls. Palghar can get quite dusty, so I’m always wiping down the glass counters. Working in beauty means you hear a lot of stories, and I enjoy the company as much as the work itself. Across the street, the guys at the electronic shop are always busy, and I can hear the traffic moving past Omshanti all day long. We keep the shop open until late so that working women can stop by on their way home. It’s just a regular local business, nothing corporate about it. We use the same products I’ve used for years because they work. It’s nice to see someone walk out feeling better than when they walked in. The tea guy comes by every afternoon.
