Ankurshrusthi Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited works out of Mykhop in Palghar. We are a group of women farmers who decided to team up. Chandraprabha Baburao Gavad is where we keep our records and meet up to discuss the season. Palghar has a lot of farming, and we are just a small part of it. We don't have a big corporate setup. It's more about local ladies coming together to see how we can handle our farming work better. Most days you’ll find us in the dirt, not behind a desk. We started this to help each other out with the harvest and selling. It’s not easy running a company while also managing a home and a farm, but we do our bit. Mykhop is a small place, and everyone knows everyone. We use the space at Chandraprabha’s to get our paperwork done. There’s always something to do, whether it’s checking the rain or seeing what the market prices are. We aren’t looking to be some huge brand, just want to make sure the women here get a fair shake with their crops. It’s hard work and the days are long, but being together as a producer company makes it a little bit easier to manage. We handle the seeds and the soil and whatever else comes our way. It’s a practical thing for us, nothing more, nothing less. Just farmers working in Palghar and trying to keep things moving forward. We are just trying to do okay by ourselves and our families for the future.
